Document Size and Bleeds

When you select the size of the document that you need, please make sure that you leave an additional 1/8th of an inch (1/16th for business cards) all around for bleeds if your document bleeds. This will ensure that your entire art and text will be visible once it is cut to its final size. Make sure, however, that no important art or text is in the bleed area. You should also have at least 1/8 of an inch inside the final size.

Borders

When using a border, remember it may be unequal either top to bottom or side to side due to minor, inevitable movements in the press and in the cutters. This will be more visible when thinner borders are used. With ALL designed material we recommend you leave 1/4 (0.25) of an inch from all surrounding edges of your printed piece. If you leave less than 1/4 (0.25) of an inch, we cannot be held responsible for unequal borders from top to bottom and from side to side. This is due to the final cutting process in which some "draw" or "slippage" occurs in that cutting process. This is a print industry standard.

Image and Resolution

All images must be submitted at 300 dpi at 100% scale (of the print size) and must be submitted in TIFF format without layers (flattened). They must all be converted to CMYK colors. If the image is submitted in RGB, our imaging system will automatically convert it and may produce undesirable results. We assume no responsibility when this process takes place. Remember, a higher quality image resolution does not always result in better print quality. Excessive images resolutions (beyond 300 dpi) will only dramatically increase your file size and in most cases will not improve the print quality. Furthermore, the extra time required to handle these larger files could delay your turnaround time. Vector-based graphics suitable for type and logos should be submitted at 100% scale and converted to EPS CMYK format with all fonts converted to curves/outlines. AmericanPrintingOnline.com will not be responsible for output from an EPS which contains fonts that are not converted to curves.

Color

Do not send art files that contain PMS colors. PMS and Pantone colors need to be converted to CMYK colors. Please, never submit anything using RGB, Pantone or PMS colors! Our presses will automatically convert Pantone, PMS, RGB and spot colors to 4-color tints, but the results are often undesirable. AmericanPrintingOnline.com specializes in Gang Run 4-color printing, the process of creating printed pieces at substantially discounted prices. In Gang-Run printing we relinquish some of the control of individual piece color to compensate for the entire run. This does not mean your colors will be drastically different, but that in regards to Gang-Run printing, the industry standard practice is to accept a overall pleasing color, which is 90%-95% accurate to the image. Because of some of the limitations with the Gang-Run printing process, the differences in equipment, paper, and neighboring image ink requirements - the accuracy of color reproduction is not 100% guaranteed. By placing an order with us you agree to this limitation. We accept no responsibility for color variations between submitted files and the final printed piece. Under no circumstances will a reprint be honored for normal color variations that have occurred during the printing process.

Inkjet and Laser Proofs

Inkjet and laser prints are known to look substantially different than offset printing. We offer quick turnaround and low prices by printing to a "pleasing color" standard, using standard ink densities. There is no guarantee that your finished piece will exactly match your printer output. This is due to the varying results from different output devices including inkjet printers, continuous tone proofing devices, and film-based proofs. No refunds or credits will be given for a printed order which does not match your inkjet proof. We do not archive files any longer than it takes to print them so please save your original art files.

Order Processing

In order to maintain our low prices, all orders/quotes should first be submitted through AmericanPrintingOnline.com, for tracking purposes.  Our Customer Service Representatives will confirm your order/quote and help you with processing. Order Cancellations

To maintain a competitive edge, we process jobs as soon as we receive your art file and have confirmed payment. If your order has been placed on a run, it can not be taken off after the plates have been made. Because all of our work is custom printed to order, all sales are final. We are unable to use or recycle your printing after we have completed it. No refunds are available on orders unless no files have been prepared. If the order has not been processed, there is no fee for cancellation. If you need to cancel an order you have placed, you must call and speak to an AmericanPrintingOnline representative to avoid ANY costs other than the above processing fees. An Email DOES NOT constitute cancellation under any conditions.

Due to the massive amount of throughput and speed in turnaround we require payment in full prior to any work being completed. We do not offer terms to any of our customers. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal.
